Big Ass Fans opened a 210,000-square-foot manufacturing site in Fort Worth, Texas, Manufacturing Dive reported on 10 September 2024. The high-volume, low-speed fan maker plans to hire 100 employees, with scope for further hiring as the business grows. An investment figure was not disclosed.
Manufacturing, distribution and a showroom
- Announced floor area: 210,000 square feet.
- Initial hiring plan: 100 employees.
- Functions: manufacturing, distribution, offices and showroom.
The local opening ceremony
The Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership’s 30 August opening account dates the ribbon-cutting to 28 August. It identifies Walma, the executive team and city councilwoman Macy Hill at the ceremony, attended by officials, business leaders, customers and local economic-development stakeholders.
The account uses the same 210,000-square-foot facility size and 100-job expansion plan. Those figures describe the announced site and intended employment, rather than confirming that all planned positions had been filled at the ribbon-cutting.
The Madison Industries acquisition
In its 26 July 2021 acquisition release, Madison Industries placed Big Ass Fans within its Madison Air indoor-air-quality portfolio. The release described a Lexington, Kentucky-based business serving commercial, industrial and residential customers, with sales in more than 150 countries at that date.
The buyer’s founder, Larry Gies, referred to a 600-person team in the 2021 announcement. That historical company-wide staffing figure is separate from the Fort Worth hiring plan and does not establish total employment in 2024. The announcement describes airflow products intended to support thermal comfort and energy efficiency.
Company contacts
The company’s US product-support page listed 1-877-244-3267 when checked on 5 October 2026. It is a product-support channel, separate from the historical factory opening and not presented as a direct Fort Worth plant number.
