Cucumbers and dill prepared for pickle production

Grillo’s Pickles has broken ground on a proposed $54 million factory in Taylorsville, Indiana. The 155,000-square-foot development is expected to create up to 150 jobs, Nathan Owens reported for Manufacturing Dive on 9 June 2025. It is a construction project at this date, rather than a report of completed production or employees already hired.

The pickle operation will stand beside a 300,000-square-foot King’s Hawaiian bakery near Interstate 65 in Bartholomew County.

Infrastructure and conditional incentives

Grillo’s 5 June project announcement describes a state incentive offer of up to $1.4 million. The company must hire eligible Indiana workers before claiming these performance-based credits. The announcement also identifies $1 million of READI 2.0 funding for improvements at the intersection of US 31, Bear Lane and County Road 700 North.

Indiana Public Media’s 6 June report separately records Bartholomew County’s infrastructure contribution of $3,746,000, approved in November 2023. The funding supports roads, water and sewer infrastructure. The county also approved an estimated $1.2 million in property-tax relief over ten years in June 2024.

  • The $54 million figure is the proposed factory investment.
  • The county contribution pays for supporting infrastructure.
  • Tax relief is spread over ten years; state credits depend on hiring.

These measures have different payment schedules and conditions. Adding them together would not establish cash already paid to Grillo’s.

Company contact

The Grillo’s customer contact page, checked on 6 October 2026, provides +1 857 575 2285 and a web form. It is a general consumer contact, rather than the construction site’s hiring office.
