The British Embassy in Jakarta launched a six-month digital-access programme targeting 250 small businesses on Lombok, Indonesia, ANTARA reported on 16 February 2025. Its partners are BRI Research Institute, Hamzanwadi University and Rinjani Geopark. The programme covers women and young entrepreneurs in Loyok, Lantan, Senaru and Sembalun.

A university partnership signed in January
Hamzanwadi University’s 7 January announcement records an earlier memorandum signed in Selong on 6 January by Rector Sitti Rohmi Djalilah. Its business-incubation centre’s agreement with BRI Research Institute covered support for women-owned enterprises, including management, product innovation and digital marketing.
The university described halal-certification assistance, a digital platform for market access, intensive training, webinars and access to financing. These are the broader January cooperation commitments; the February launch’s 250-business target is a separate, specific programme announcement. Neither dated report provides a count of completed loans or certifications.
Earlier British digital-access commitments
The United Kingdom’s development partnership summary published on 17 July 2023 had already identified barriers to digital access for women and marginalised groups as a bilateral priority. It described Digital Access Programme training in personal-data protection, financial literacy, branding and content writing for small businesses.
That policy also included technical expertise in digital service delivery, cybersecurity and data management. The Lombok launch therefore follows an existing bilateral digital-access agenda and the university’s January cooperation agreement.
