Aircraft Propeller Service (APS) opened its first Asian maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Shah Alam, Selangor, on 24 June 2025. The 30,096-square-foot centre serves propellers used on ATR 42/72 and Airbus C295 aircraft, Bernama reported that day. The opening adds Malaysia to the company’s existing operations in the United States and Brazil.
Approvals and staff training
European Union Aviation Safety Agency approval was still expected.
APS’ same-day company release states that 20 of its 30 Malaysian employees completed training in the United States and Brazil, including 31 mandatory technical courses for each trainee. Its repair agreement with Collins Aerospace covers proprietary processes for the 568F propeller system. The new building includes a controlled-temperature and humidity production floor and a three-storey administration office.
- Two-thirds of the opening workforce had completed the overseas training, calculated from 20 of 30 employees.
- The reported building area is approximately 2,796 square metres, converting the square-foot figure.
- Further maintenance capabilities were planned, rather than listed as already introduced.
The aircraft market before the opening
ATR also reported almost 100 transactions involving used aircraft. This provides another part of the operating-fleet context for a propeller maintenance business, alongside new-aircraft deliveries. The manufacturer expected supply-chain pressures to continue into at least the first half of 2025.
