Data storage infrastructure for collaborative platforms
Data storage infrastructure for collaborative platforms

LiveRamp introduced its unified data-collaboration platform on 29 February 2024, combining marketing workflows in one interface. The company’s launch release describes cloud interoperability, partner applications, self-service audience segmentation and permissions. It also names notifications through Slack and activation through Google PAIR among the supported workflows.

Cloud collaboration after the Habu purchase

The product launch followed the completion of LiveRamp’s Habu acquisition on 31 January. Habu supplies data-clean-room software for collaboration between organisations. LiveRamp’s completion announcement describes connecting data across clouds, warehouses and clean rooms to measure campaigns across media channels and closed advertising ecosystems.

The 17 January transaction announcement valued the cash-and-stock deal at approximately $200 million, subject to adjustments. Its proposed consideration included about $170 million in cash, plus stock connected with unvested awards and employee holdbacks. An additional approximately $16 million of restricted stock units was planned for continuing employees’ retention.

The commercial ambitions of the acquisition

  • LiveRamp expected about $18 million of fiscal-2025 revenue, including acquisition synergies.
  • It identified additional cross-cloud use cases for existing customers.
  • It proposed applications beyond marketing, including inventory and supply-chain work.

Those amounts and applications were forward-looking expectations in the January announcement.

The customer base before the February launch

The company’s 8 February quarterly results cover the quarter ended 31 December 2023. Revenue was $174 million, comprising $132 million of subscription revenue and $42 million from Marketplace and Other. The period therefore precedes both the Habu closing and the unified-platform launch.

LiveRamp reported 105 customers with subscription contracts exceeding $1 million in annual revenue, against 94 a year earlier. It also stated that more than 18,000 publisher domains had adopted its Authenticated Traffic Solution.
