Ruschem reported that its Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant had completed development work on a production technology for the phenolic antioxidant Agidol-110. The announcement concerns a formulation used in polymer production and a laboratory development milestone, rather than a disclosed annual commercial output.
The development announcement
The group issued the announcement on 18 January 2024; Interfax covered it on the same date. According to the company, specialists at the plant’s central laboratory developed the technology and selected technical solutions for producing the additive. Ruschem said the resulting product met foreign quality standards. That is the company’s assessment, not an independent certification reported here.
The group described the project as part of its response to disrupted supplies of European-made antioxidants. Its statement said comparable products had previously been imported and that there were no domestic equivalents at the time. These market-position claims remain attributed to Ruschem.
Applications described by the company
- Polyethylene and polypropylene production.
- Polyvinyl chloride and polyethylene terephthalate formulations.
- ABS plastics, polystyrene and thermoplastic elastomers.
- Synthetic rubber and other polymer materials.
The primary announcement also describes a crystalline, non-dusting product and compatibility with other stabilising additives. These characteristics are presented as the developer’s description of the material obtained during the technology work. They do not establish a guaranteed result in every customer’s production process.
Scope and next commercial questions
The antioxidant-development programme was included in the Industry and Trade Ministry’s chemical-industry import-substitution action plan, according to the announcement. The stated aim was to broaden the group’s product range and provide another option for polymer manufacturers.
The January statement does not disclose a yearly production capacity, a sales price, a shipment schedule or the volume of customer orders. Completion of research and development should therefore be distinguished from evidence of a fully ramped commercial production line. Customers evaluating the additive would need to obtain the applicable specification and supply terms from the company.
The Sterlitamak plant forms part of the Ruschem group, which brings together chemical businesses serving several industrial markets. The product announcement is reproduced here as an attributed company file, with its development status and the limits of the disclosed information retained.
