Zscaler announced a new data centre in Kuala Lumpur on 22 January 2026, available to customers in Malaysia and the wider region. Bernama reported that it complements the company’s existing infrastructure in the city. The announcement concerns an additional point of presence for its security platform; it does not specify ownership of the building or publish the site’s street address.
Services hosted at the new location
The same-day company statement identifies the Zero Trust Exchange platform, including Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA). Internet Access covers access to internet applications and software services; Private Access supports connections to private applications. The company presents the location as additional local capacity for these services.
- Zscaler describes multiple network paths and redundant power and cooling.
- It says the site supports customers’ data-residency preferences.
- It advertises lower latency, without giving a measured Malaysian before-and-after figure.
The preceding AI product programme
In a separate 3 June 2025 announcement at Zenith Live, Zscaler presented AI-powered data classification for sensitive information, with more than 200 content categories. The earlier release describes controls intended to help organisations identify sensitive data across distributed environments. This is product context predating the Malaysian opening; it does not measure the new facility’s compute capacity.
The January announcement scheduled a related enterprise-AI webinar for 3 February 2026. At the report’s January date, that event was still upcoming. Product announcements made later in January are outside the chronology of this launch account.
Company contact
Zscaler’s corporate contact directory, checked on 6 October 2026, lists +1 408 533 0288 and separate channels for sales, support and public relations. This is a company-wide contact, not a published telephone number for the Kuala Lumpur data-centre building.
