Avtotor has started serial assembly of the Haval H9 SUV in Kaliningrad, Russia, Interfax reported on 8 September 2026. At launch, the factory receives welded and painted bodies. More technological operations and greater localisation are planned for subsequent stages.
The production arrangement at launch
Manufacturer warranty and service support apply through the Russian Haval PRO dealer network.
- Model: the frame-based Haval H9.
- Assembly location: Avtotor’s Kaliningrad facility.
- Further localisation: planned in stages.
Equipment of the model being assembled
Haval’s same-day production announcement lists Premium and Techno+ versions. It describes a seven-seat interior with three-zone climate control, four-wheel drive, a low-range transmission and differential locks. Front-seat ventilation and massage depend on the version; folding second- and third-row seats allow additional luggage space.
The manufacturer also identifies changes introduced earlier in 2026: a grey-finished radiator grille, unpainted wheel-arch extensions, built-in Yandex Auto services, voice control and over-the-air software updates. These are model features described at the assembly launch, rather than a list of components newly manufactured in Kaliningrad.
An earlier digital-service programme
A separate 14 August announcement offered a digital upgrade for earlier H9 model years through Haval PRO dealers by appointment. The stated service price was RUB34,900 including VAT. It added a voice assistant, Yandex Auto and OTA updates over the telematics mobile connection or Wi-Fi.
That release describes a voice system recognising about 800 commands and controlling more than 150 functions. Its listed tasks include operating windows, navigation, climate control, multimedia and telephone calls. It specifies an internet connection for online services and an active Yandex Plus subscription for music and audiobooks.
The retrofit price is therefore not a surcharge stated for every vehicle produced in Kaliningrad.
