VK Tech announced Bare Metal, a service providing physical servers in VK data centres in the Moscow region, Interfax reported on 26 June 2025. The same announcement also covered Private Cloud Light, a lighter configuration of the company's private-cloud platform for deployment inside a customer's infrastructure.

Physical servers with cloud management

In a same-day account supplied by VK representatives, the company describes Bare Metal's integration with VK Cloud and management through its cloud interface. Product director Dmitry Lazarenko linked the service to customers needing direct control of physical computing resources. The announced configurations include graphics accelerators for artificial-intelligence and data-processing workloads.

The physical server is the resource being supplied; the cloud interface is the mechanism for managing it. These two parts of the offer explain how dedicated hardware can sit alongside the provider's cloud services without being described as a virtual machine on a customer's premises.

A smaller private-cloud configuration

VK representatives separately described Private Cloud Light's initial configuration as four servers and a storage system. Combined management and computing nodes reduce the number of separate infrastructure elements. The product was offered in closed testing, as software or as a combined software-and-hardware package.

  • A self-service portal for internal resource users.
  • Access through a programming interface.
  • User-action auditing with export to security-event systems.
  • Optional billing for resource-cost management.

Two deployment locations

The launch presents two distinct locations for infrastructure: the provider's data centres for Bare Metal and the customer's internal environment for Private Cloud Light.

The June additions extend that infrastructure portfolio.
