Winner Sky Technology has opened a 60,000-square-foot electronics manufacturing facility in Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia. Bernama reported on 18 June 2026 that the company committed RM70 million over five years. The opening and investment programme concern different stages: the building has opened, while the spending commitment extends into the following years.

The opening date and expansion plans

The joint MIDA and InvestPenang release dated 18 June identifies the ceremony as 4 June, attended by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow. Bernama gives 6 June. This report follows the date in the primary joint release and records the discrepancy rather than treating both dates as identical.

The release describes surface-mount technology lines and manufacturing services for industrial, energy-control and Internet of Things applications.

  • The announced building area converts to approximately 5,574 square metres.
  • Moving from 150 to more than 450 employees implies more than 300 additional positions.
  • The five-year investment commitment is not an annual spending figure.

The ownership transaction preceding the plant

A separate Alltronics Holdings annual-report disclosure, published on 23 April 2026, records the acquisition of Winner Sky Technology Hong Kong Limited for RM4.393 million, approximately HK$8.14 million. The purchase closed on 20 August 2025. The acquired business includes its wholly owned Malaysian manufacturing subsidiary, Winner Sky Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

The report identifies manufacturing, assembly and sale of electronic products, components and parts as the acquired group’s activities. It states that the transaction extended Alltronics’ manufacturing footprint into Malaysia. Winner Sky became an indirectly wholly owned subsidiary of Alltronics on completion.

The two figures are therefore not competing estimates of construction cost.
