Wistron opened its D1 manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, to assemble and test NVIDIA artificial-intelligence systems. Manufacturing Dive covered the opening on 24 July 2026. Wistron’s primary announcement dates the ceremony to 21 July and describes a $700 million facility occupying approximately 324,000 square feet.
Products, manufacturing cells and employment
The company’s opening release identifies the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip as the product already built at the site. Chairman Simon Lin said Vera Rubin Superchip production would follow. NVIDIA founder and chief executive Jensen Huang joined Lin at the ceremony, alongside Fort Worth economic-development director Jessica Rogers.
NVIDIA’s separate opening account describes two manufacturing cells: one producing GB300 systems and another intended for Vera Rubin. It reports more than 500 jobs created and a target of 1,000 by the end of the year. A stated scale-up ambition reaches tens of thousands of boards monthly; it is not a reported monthly shipment total.
- Existing manufacturing programme: GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra.
- Subsequent product programme: Vera Rubin.
- Employment: over 500 reported jobs, with 1,000 targeted for year-end.
Factory modelling and energy optimisation
In a 9 June announcement, Wistron described applying Omniverse DSX and physical-AI technologies across its manufacturing network. During construction it uses OpenUSD virtual assets, factory-layout modelling and thermal analysis with PhysicsNeMo models. In operation, its AI Factory Digital Twin system analyses power, thermal flows and equipment status to recommend changes in energy allocation and testing schedules.
These are described engineering methods. The June account does not provide a measured energy-saving percentage for Fort Worth. The primary release supplies the consistent date and area.
