GS Group’s First Cardboard Factory in Gusev has delivered its first batch of parcel boxes to Russian Post branches in Kaliningrad Region. Interfax reported on 13 November 2024 that the order calls for 21,140 packages of different sizes by the end of the year. The project localises packaging supply within this region of Russia.
A regional supplier replaces outside contractors
- Manufacturer: First Cardboard Factory, part of GS Group.
- Production location: Gusev, Kaliningrad Region.
The customer and manufacturer describe the partnership
In its same-day announcement, GS Group identifies regional postal director Sergey Aronov and factory director Marat Kaveev as participants. Aronov linked the supplier choice with meeting postal requirements and preparations for the seasonal increase in parcel traffic before New Year. Kaveev connected the partnership with the region’s objective of expanding its own production.
Regional minister Veronika Lesikova said reducing the transportation component made the arrangement attractive to both parties. Neither the company announcement nor the agency report gives a contract price, a measured transportation-cost saving or the size of the first delivered batch.
Earlier quality-management work
A 12 March 2020 group announcement lists the First Cardboard Factory among Technopolis GS enterprises that passed an ISO 9001:2015 quality-management audit conducted by SGS Vostok Limited. It dates initial group certifications to 2013 and gives the newly issued document’s validity as ending in 2023.
That earlier announcement documents the factory’s quality-management history. Its stated certificate period ended before the November 2024 postal order; it is not evidence of a currently valid certificate for the new supply programme.
